Cool Subtractive EQ Trick For Snappier Kicks

Here’s a video tutorial by Mr.Bill, showing a simple technique for quickly adding more snap to a kick drum.

The trick is to apply substractive EQ on a parallel channel, instead of layering another kick on top or using additive EQ. A rather simple, and yet pretty handy technique!
