Xfer Records releases Delta Modulator, a free bitcrusher VST plugin based on a signal modulation technique found in the Nintendo NES video game console’s delta modulation channel.
Delta Modulator is a simple bitcrusher plugin with one outstanding feature. Its unique algorithm makes it sound different compared to other similar plugins on the market.
It’s based on the delta modulation channel found in the Nintendo NES console. Delta Modulator delivers a specific type of bitcrushing that sounds fantastic on synths and electronic drums.
The control scheme is self-explanatory. Use the SR and Bits controls to adjust the bitcrushing intensity. You can also control the Input gain, Output volume, and the Dry/Thru mix.
The software is compatible with digital audio workstations on Windows and macOS. It is free to download and use.
