NewModelOscillator by whitebox.
whitebox has released NewModelOscillator, a freeware FM synthesizer in VSTi plugin format for Windows (made with SynthEdit).
A 3 modulator FM synth with 8 dirty presets. Essentially an FX box with a synth inside it, NewModelOsc uses a lot of delay to excite the ears.
NewModelOscillator is available for free download via whitebox. The same dev has already released a number of (mostly FM) freeware synths, one of which is included in BPB’s selection of the best freeware FM synth VST/AU plugins.

NewModelOscillator seems like a fairly non-complicated synth though. That’s great in my case, since I suck at FM synthesis. Will give this plugin a go later today.
