Piano One by Sound Magic.
Sound Magic has released Vintage Piano Set, a free soundbank for their Piano One virtual piano instrument.
Sound Magic releases Vintage Piano Set for its Free Piano One. Vintage Piano Set has 3 great sounding pianos, all of them are emulated vintage pianos, which often have a mellower sound than current pianos. So this made it ideal for soft and relax music styles.
The soundbank consist of 3 presets, based on 3 different pianos (it seems like they used real instruments as counterparts for these presets):
- Vintage Piano: A British Vintage Grand Piano built in 1934. Sounds beautiful and will give you a feeling of relax.
- Mellow Piano: A German Vintage Upright, sounds very mellow and soft.
- Mellow Piano 2: A German Vintage Upright, sounds very soft,the dynamic is limited for its great age.
Vintage Piano Set is available for free download via KVR Audio. You’ll also find KVRer Piano on that page, another free Piano One soundbank which was released a while ago.
If you’re looking for more free piano sounds, definitely check out BPB’s selection of the best free piano multi-samples. Most of the files listed there (the ones which come with SFZ patches) will work great in Synapse Audio’s recently released Zampler.

These 3 new presets are not working in my Piano One 1.3 in Presonus Studio One 2. When I run the 32 bit version with new presets in 32 bit S1, I get a window saying “3 of 25 parameters not found”. When I try to use one of these presets in Piano One 1.3 in bridged form in 64 bit Studio One 2, it freezes Studio One. The previous KVR Piano One presets worked perfectly and these new ones were placed in the same location as the ones that worked.
ah, i can’t help there unfortunately. still haven’t used Piano One myself, just took it for a quick spin to check out the sound.

Thanks for the contact info., man. Just shot them a line. I actually think Piano One is a really nice piece–its just these new presets seem to be malfunctioning.
yeah, i’ve only heard good stuff about Piano One. i’m just too used to using samples for piano sounds i guess.
