Subtersonic has released Brother Typewriter, a free collection of typewriter samples (a 1960’s Japanese model) in 16-bit WAV format.
This is a sample pack of a vintage typewriter. It can be used for sound fx, experimental music and anything else under the sun. It contains clicks, dings, ratchet sounds and other mechanical type noises and can make some rather interesting rhythmic patterns.
Brother Typewriter is available for free download via Subtersonic (download size is 3.85MB). The sounds were recorded using a Shure SM-57 microphone and a Behringer mixer.
