u-he has released Podolski, a freeware virtual analogue synthesizer for Windows and Mac (previously distributed as magware).

Podolski has been refurbished with some new presets by Howard Scarr, has undergone a GUI makeover (two new skins) and supports a wider range of plug-in formats. A new English language manual is also included.

Podolski is available for free download via u-he (10.4MB download size, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU plugin format for Windows & Mac).

The synth was originally released in 2005 as a gift for visitors of Musikmesse. After that, it was distributed on the cover CD of the Keyboards Magazine until 2009.

The new version of Podolski is available as freeware and features a refurbished GUI as well as a set of completely new presets by Howard Scarr (let’s just say that he programmed the synths for The Dark Knight Rises movie soundtrack!).
