SoftAmp GT by AXP.
AXP has released SoftAmp GT, a free guitar amplifier simulator stomp-box in VST plugin format for Windows.
SoftAmp GT is a virtual emulation of a well-known analog guitar amplifier simulator stomp-box. The prototype is a solid state circuit that uses op-amps to saturate the signal and moderate filtering to shape the tone throughout the signal path.
SoftAmp GT is available for free download via AXP’s website (236kB download size, 32-bit VST plugin format for Windows).
AXP has recently released SoftAmp 3OD, a freeware emulation of a vacuum triode amplifier. It’s available for free download on the same page (it was also AXD’s entry for KVR Developer Challenge 2012).
I’m not sure exactly which stomp-box is emulated here. Has anyone figured this out? Please let me know in the comments section if you have the answer.

The Telenator
onThis latest one from AXP is another fine example of his work and hints of things to come. My involvement with SoftAmp began when I went looking for something much better than the standard fare of green pedal sims to run in front of my S-Gear for that ‘one extra’ stage of boost or gain. This new one, the GT, serves a different purpose — it’s a very small and tiny-footprint all-in-one amp sim and cab, packed with some very interesting choices. This wasn’t designed to outdo all the cutting-edge amp sims and modelers you can pay hundreds for. Sure, the GT sounds great, but I expect I’ll use it more for the times I want to plug into something quickly without loads of setup and tweaking. While this one, too, could serve as a boost in itself in front of other, more elaborate amps, I’ll tell you — the thing you really have to scoop this one up for is the awesome graph on the right side that’s an integral part of the unit. It shows clearly how various gain, amp, and cab choices affect the overall frequency spectrum of the output, sure to be a real enlightenment for many players and will help greatly in understanding what’s happening in all your other amp sims. This freeware maker is one to watch, because there’s certain to be more clever designs on the way.
