FireFace Horns has released a collection of free brass samples, suitable for use in hip hop and dub music.
The FireFace Horns is a collective of brass and reed players dedicated to recording exciting, live and unique brass orientated samples packs.
The samples are available for free download @ the FireFace Horns SoundCloud page (open each individual set to get the download links).
It would be great if there was a way to download all the sounds at the same time. I’ve browsed through most of the samples on offer and was generally stunned by the sheer quality of the sounds.
If you like these samples and need custom brass tracks for your music, you might want to hire FireFace Horns to create them for you (the standard rate is £50 per track).

I listened to about half, and they are very nice. Unfortunately, it just too much trouble for what’s there — and, besides, it’s lot more fun writing these parts for yourself. I really have started to question why so many ‘musicians’ feel the need to use everyone else’s samples instead of creating their own. Is it laziness, lack of ability or what?
it is fun to write your own lines, but programmed brass and guitars never sound good enough to my ears.
on another note, some genres like hip hop and dnb are pretty much based on sampling. imho, it’s not laziness but simply a different approach to making music.

I agree with you about fun creating own lines, and generally I don’t like to be limited when I compose track. But with brass is simple for me: I don’t play any brass instrument, and I don’t know anybody who plays…What else I can do but use samples…
agreed!
As much as I like playing my own stuff, the quality of these samples are to good to pass on, will definitely be adding it to my productions even Layering with brass vsts
These sound tight. I hope Soundcloud supports compressed folder downloads soon.
+1!
