boscomac has released Retro Beat Mk2, a free drum module instrument for Native Instruments Reaktor 5 featuring sounds from various classic drum machines.

RETRO BEAT MK2 is a module which combines 27 vintage beatboxes and drums synth sound. Every sound has been treated through analog peripherals worthy of the name: Preamp Cartec Audio, Eq Chandler Limiter, compressor Shadow Hills.

Retro Beat Mk2 is available for free download via boscomac (8.5MB download size, contains 1 instrument in ENS format for NI Reaktor).

A total of 27 vintage drum machines have been sampled for use with Retro Beat Mk2, including the famous LinnDrum, followed by Roland’s classic TR series, and so on.

Retro Beat Mk2 also supports multiple outputs, so you’ll be able to treat each drum element differently in the mix. The only downside is that it requires the full version of NI Reaktor. It will work for 20 minutes in the freeware Reaktor Player.
