boscomac has released The Reverser, a freeware reverse delay effect in Native Instruments Reaktor ensemble format.

THE REVERSER is a delay that reverses the sound. Originally, we recorded a sound and then we returned the tape to play it backwards, it was pretty perilous.

The Reverser is available for free download via boscomacs’s website (672kB download size, available in ENS format for NI Reaktor).

What the reverse delay effect does is repeating a series of echoes which are reversely played versions of the original signal. This has been a popular effect in the 80s, often achieved by playing tapes in reverse.

The Reverser is a virtual version of this effect, offering additional saturation and modulation controls, along with the stuff you’d expect to find in any other delay effect.

Please note that The Reverser requires the full version of NI Reaktor. It will work for 20 minutes in the freeware Reaktor Player. After that period, the effect will go silent.
