Erik Ekholm has released Metal Cabs, a free collection of guitar cabinet impulse responses captured from various 4×12 and 2×12 guitar cabinets.
10 IR’s captured using a Sm57 on a variety of 4×12 and 2×12 cabinets. These impulses are especially tailored for heavy rhythm guitars and high gain distortion but they also sound great with clean sounds.
Metal Cabs is available for free download via Erik Ekholm’s website (2.6 MB download size, contains 10 impulse responses in 24-bit WAV format).
The pack contains 10 guitar cabinet impulse responses, which were recorded with the Shure SM57 microphone. They are meant to be used on high gain guitar sounds, but will also work on clean sounds according to the author.
