Beat Zampler by Synapse Audio.
Beat Magazine has released Zampler RX (capable of loading REX files) and two free sample libraries featuring the sounds the Bass Station II analogue synthesizer by Novation.
As an appetizer, Novation Germany and Beat Magazine are giving away two sample packs of Bass Station II. A secret SFZ player Zampler with a brand new RX loop engine is also available with it.
Zampler RX and the sound banks are available for free download via Beat Magazine’s Facebook page and Novation Music’s Facebook page (2 x 272 MB download size, RAR archive, contains 1 instrument in 32-bit VSTi plugin format for Windows and 800 MB of audio data in 24-bit WAV format).
Please note that you will need to Like both the Beat Magazine and Novation Music page on Facebook in order to get the download links. I hope that these sound collections will soon also be available for download on Beatdrive, which is Beat Magazine’s cloud repository of freebie products.
The new version of Zampler (labeled Zampler RX) is capable of loading REX files. Judging by the quality of the original instrument, which is still my favorite SFZ player, Zampler RX should be a great choice for playing REX sound libraries for free.
The Novation Bass Station II sound bank is split into two separate parts, labeled Yin and Yang. Combined, they contain 800 MB of hiqh quality samples, which are ready for use in the new version of Zampler. You’ll find a nice selection of basses, leads, arpeggios, and even some cool synthesized drum sounds!
