Computer Music and SKnote have released Snap, a unique transient shaper effect for Windows and Mac which is available on the cover DVD of CM197.

Brighten or dull the attack and sustain of your sounds with Snap, a unique transient exciter plugin created exclusively for CM by software perfectionists SKnote.

To get your free copy of Snap, purchase the latest edition of Computer Music  magazine @ Zinio (priced at £2.99). The online edition of the magazine can also be purches via Apple Newsstand and Google Play.

Once you get the magazine, head over to CM Vault and log in to your account. You’ll need to answer two or three simple questions, after which you’ll gain access to the DVD content.I

The DVD content includes the latest CM plugin (SKnote Snap in this case) as well as the complete CM Studio collection. It is a fantastic collection of virtual instruments and effects and I’m sure you’ll find several great additions to your plugin arsenal.

SKnote Snap is a somewhat unusual transient shaper effect. Instead of simply reducing or increasing the volume of attack and decay, it uses filters to make them sound brighter or more dull. Transient shapers in general are great tools for easy shaping of sounds (especially drums!) and making them sit better in a busy mix.
