Electro Riot – Free Waldorf Pulse 2 Sound Library By Beat Magazine

Beat Magazine has released Electro Riot, a free (requires Facebook!) collection of Waldorf Pulse 2 sounds for the freeware Zampler sample instrument.

Provocative, powerful, raw and impulsive – that is how one could characterize the sounds of our current “Electro Riot” collection. In this 1 GB Zampler pack we show the impressive sound spectrum of the new Waldorf Pulse 2.

Electro Riot is available for free download via Beat Magazine’s Facebook page (699 MB download size, 1 GB of audio data, RAR archive, contains 638 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format, 1 FXB sound bank, 46 patches in SFZ format, 20 patches in RX2 format, 20 sequences in MIDI format).

The library features a set of 46 multi-sampled patches captured from the Pulse 2 synthesizer by Waldorf. Pulse 2 is a compact analogue synthesizer, packing loads of features and synthesis power in a small box.

The synthesizer has been extensively sampled for this release, which brings a variety of electronic sounds ranging from basses and leads to SFX. Each multi-sampled patch comes with a corresponding SFZ patch which can be loaded inside Zampler RX or any other compatible sampler. Fans of other samplers can use the provided WAV files in their own favorite program without any limitations.

Zampler RX (also provided in the pack) is a great freeware SFZ player which is also capable of load RX2 files. It was developed in collaboration with Synapse Audio and has become my favorite SFZ player. The ease of use mixed with a nice and clean user interface makes it a great tool for playing SFZ patches (still limited to 32-bit VSTi, unfortunately!).
