240 High Quality Acoustic Drum Samples Released By That Sound!

That Sound has released That Sound Free Part 1 & Part 2, two free collections of high quality acoustic drum samples taken from their forthcoming commercial releases.

All of our samples are mixed so that they will fit amazing into any song with little to no processing. Our samples are organized by how a drum sample SOUNDS and not a generic name. This allows you to quickly find samples based on “That Sound” you hear in your head.

That Sound Free Part 1 & Part 2 are available for free download via That Sound (27.8 MB total download size, ZIP archive x 2, contains 240 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format).

This is one of the best one shot acoustic drum collections out there. The samples sound natural and punchy, they are not over-processed and come with just the right amount of compression and EQ to be used right out of the box. I’m definitely keeping these two packs in my acoustic drums folder, since they’ll work great for layering on top of other acoustic drums.

The samples are categorized by different drum elements (kick, snare, hi-hat, etc.), as well as by type of sound. You’ll easily choose between dry samples and the ones with different room treatment and processing.

Keep in mind that these are only one shot samples, not multi-samples. You won’t be able to use these to build 100% natural sounding acoustic drum loops, but they can be used in tandem with other acoustic drums at your disposal, or for building simpler drum loops.

That Sound is an up-and-coming sound design company which will launch their products in December 2013. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us! Judging by the freebies at hand, their commercial stuff should be a real blast.
