Arracis Gold Pro by HG Fortune.
HG Fortune has announced that his Arracis Gold Pro virtual synthesizer is now re-released and available as freeware.
Arracis Gold is an “Oscillator Stepping Synthesizer”. Its most significant feature is the 4 x 8 osc step-sequencer with adjustable gate-length + modulation on gate-length.
Arracis Gold Pro is available for free download via KVR Audio (73 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit VSTi plugin format for Windows, made with SynthEdit).
The coolest feature of this virtual synthesizer is the build-in step sequencer. It can be used to create evolving sequences by skipping a certain step in each cycle. Pretty neat! It is also possible to tweak the gate length of each step. The synthesizer also features a set of built-in effects, a bass enhancer module, and robust modulation possibilities.
Arracis Gold Pro is now available for free download, as part of HG Fortune’s ever growing series of Nearly Forgotten Gems (NFG) in which he releases some of his finest old commercial products as freeware VSTi plugins. The full version of Arracis Gold Pro was priced at €29 back in the day. You can read an interesting review of this instrument (published in 2009) at Rekkerd. Ronnie has described Arracis Gold Pro as a great tool for composing ambient music.
