Diego Callegari (aka DCSI) has released Combat Loop Drum Machine, a free virtual drum machine instrument for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Hi folks! I’m finally happy to bring to you computer musicians one of the first DCSI freebies of a series: COMBAT LOOP DRUM MACHINE, a new and original Kontakt drum instrument, useful for drum sequencing.
Combat Loop Drum Machine is available for free download via Diego Callegari Sounds Images (15.74 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1 instrument in NKI format for NI Kontakt).
This virtual drum machine instrument features 4 electronic drum kits (glitch kit, clean kit, power kit, noise kit) and a collection of 14 drum loop variations. A user manual in PDF format is also included in the download archive. It explains all the parameters of the built-in drum sequencer, so it’s a good idea to take a look at the included PDF file before firing up the instrument for the first time.
The provided loops and drum patterns are optimized for use at 80 BPM, however they can be sped up or slowed down according to the user’s needs. The loops can be re-arranged on the go using the Remix! knob on the interface.
Combat Loop Drum Machine is the first release in a forthcoming series of virtual instruments by the same sound designer. A new release is expected withing several weeks from now.
Sadly, individual WAV files are not included in the download pack. You’ll need to use the full version of NI Kontakt in order to use the instrument without limitations. The sound will time out after 15 minutes of use with the freeware Kontakt Player.
