AfroDJMac has announced the release of Electric Guitar Synths, the 100th freebie product in his fantastic series of free instruments and effects for Ableton Live.
I’m very pleased and excited to share the 100th Free AfroDJMac Ableton Live Pack! In order to create these samples, I recorded my trusty Fender Mustang through my Fender Deluxe tube amp, with a little spring reverb. I used an AKG C414 and a Shure SM57 on the amp. I mixed the two samples together before dropping them into Ableton’s Sampler.
Electric Guitar Synths is available for free download via AfroDJMac (16.8 MB download size, ALP file format for Ableton Live).

The instrument is based on a collection of Fender Mustang electric guitar samples which were captured from a Fender Deluxe tube guitar amplifier. The sound was spiced up with a little bit of spring reverb and the results are very nice, as you can hear in the demo video below.
It’s not uncommon for ADM to turn simple sounds into surprisingly good sounding virtual instruments for Ableton Live. This freebie release was actually the 100th addition to his series of free Ableton Live goodies. Use the search field in the right sidebar to find all previous releases by ADM.
It’s very cool to know that BPB has also, in a way, contributed to AfroDJMac’s huge Ableton Live freeware legacy. About a year ago, he created an Ableton Live instrument which was based on our free collection of Commodore 64 drum samples in WAV format. The instrument was also featured on Ableton’s official website. Good stuff!
