Dark Side of the Tune has released Volca Beast II, a free sample collection featuring the sounds of the Volca Beats analogue drum machine.
Volca Beast II free sound library revisits the sound of Korg’s new analog drum machine with expanded sonic capabilities. The Volca Beats was put through boutique sound processing to create even more depth and range. From quick thumpy sounds for techno and like genres, to beefy Hip-Hop style rhythms, Volca Beast can easily fit into most productions.
Volca Beast II is available for free download via SoundCloud (18.7 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 204 drum samples in 16-bit & 24-bit WAV format).

This is the second Volca Beats free sample pack by Dark Side of the Tune. The first release featuring this great drum synthesizer by Korg was released back in 2013. Definitely grab that one too if you’re looking to expand your Volca Beats sample arsenal.
What I loved about this new release of Volca Beast was the fact that most included samples come with round robin variations. By linking these sample groups to the same note in your sampler, you can get one step closer to using a real analogue drum machine. Generally speaking, these subtle sonic differences between similar drum hits can add life and motion to a static electronic drum groove.
As with all other Dark Side of the Tune releases thus far, the included samples sound great and the editing is top notch. These gritty drum samples will work great in most electronic tunes, either as the components of the main drum beat or for layering on top of other percussive sounds.
