GliderVerb – A Freeware “Evolving” M4L Reverb Effect For Ableton Live

0

Amazing Noises has released GliderVerb, a unique Max for Live reverb device developed with the goal of simulating a room which gradually changes its shape over time.

GliderVerb is a “reverberator with glissandos” simulating a room gradually changing its shape. It is an expanded version of an algorithm created by James McCartney for his Supercollider 2 programming language.

GliderVerb is available for free download via Amazing Noises (17.1 kB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1 Max for Live device in AMXD format for Ableton Live).

Please note that you’ll need to sign up for a free Amazing Noises user account in order to download this device. Simply add the product to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout to complete the process. The download link will appear in your browser window and it will also be delivered to your email Inbox. The download link inside the browser is written in an incredibly tiny font, so be careful not to miss it.

The unusual thing about GliderVerb is that it simulates a constantly changing room, which to me is a completely new concept. It sounds interesting on paper, sort of like an evolving reverb effect. You could probably get a similar effect by automating different parameters on a standard room reverb, however having a tool for such specific use is cool. And it’s also free.

The device is compatible with both Windows and Mac based computers. An installation of Ableton Live 9 is required in order to use this device. If you’re looking for more Live freebies, take a look at the Free Devices page on the Amazing Noise website.
