Dark Side Of The Tune Releases The Freq Show Free Analog FM Sample Library

Dark Side of the Tune has released Freq Show, a free sample library featuring a collection of sounds which have been generated or processed using analog frequency modulation.

The latest free sample library from Dark Side of the Tune, Freq Show, exploits the complexity of analog frequency modulation. Modular synthesis techniques were deployed to get improper FM sounds. Talking bass and meowing synths give a futuristic tone for any music created. Drum kit featuring modulated 808 sounds included.

The samples are hosted on Google Drive so you’ll need to use a little trick to download the entire collection in a single ZIP archive. Once you’ve reached the shared folder with individual WAV files, hit CTRL+S on your keybard or select Download from the File menu and you’ll download the pack.

The library features a variety of sounds, including drum samples, SFX one shots, and bass samples. A nice set of processed 808 kick drums is also included in the pack. All of the included sounds were created using analog frequency modulation, which has this lovely lo-fi character when compared to standard FM synthesis. Super fast LFOs are used to modulate the oscillator’s frequency in an analogue synthesizer, result in weird robotic sounds with plenty of grit.

Freq Show is the latest release in an ongoing series of great sounding free sample packs by Dark Side of the Tune. Make sure you grab the rest of the freebies if you like the sounds provided in this pack.

Freq Show is available for free download via SoundCloud (11.9 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 57 audio samples in 16-bit & 24-bit WAV format).
