65 Free Trap Drum Samples Released By Modern Mixing (WAV)

Modern Mixing has announced the release of Free HQ Trap Drums, a freebie collection of custom crafted drum hits and SFX along with a set of classic TR-808 sounds designed for use in trap tunes.

Trap is known for hard hitting drums but a lot of the samples tend to sound harsh.  I specifically went through every sound and tweaked them with EQ, Tape Emulation and a few other tools to get the cleanest, yet most aggressive sounds I possibly could I am more than happy with the results.

Free HQ Trap Drums is available for free download via Modern Mixing (17.1 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 81 trap samples in 24-bit WAV format).

Please note that you’ll need to subscribe to the Modern Mixing mailing list in order to download this free trap sample collection. Simply submit your email address on the page linked above and the sample pack will be delivered to your Inbox after confirming the subscription.

The freebie pack includes a set of 65 drum samples and 16 additional SFX sounds which were designed for trap music production. You’ll find classic 808 hits inside, distorted kick drums, some nice sounding snares, claps, etc.

A larger version of the pack will be given away each month to one of the people who submit a tune for the contest on Modern Mixing. You’ll find more info about the contest at the official download page.

The included samples sound very good. They’ve been passed through a pair of API 312 preamps and further processed inside the box to get just the right amount of punch for modern trap mixes. Modern Mixing provides some very informative video tutorials for mixing different music styles, so take a look at their site if you’re looking to improve your mixing skills.
