Drumdrops have released Recording Hybrid Kit, a free acoustic drum instrument rack for Ableton Live based on a collection of sounds from their Yamaha Hybrid Kit sample library.
Recording Hybrid Kit is a free Pack consisting of a multi-sampled, multi-velocity Yamaha drumset. Made up of elements of several different drumsets, Hybrid is a great sounding, all-purpose kit from Drumdrops – the makers of A Fistful of Drums.
It seems that you need to own a registered copy of Ableton Live 9.0.1 or higher in order to download this free drum kit. I only have a free copy of Ableton Live 8 Lite which came with a MIDI keyboard, and unfortunately it isn’t compatible with this freebie. I can see the download button before logging in, but it disappears from the page once I log in to my user account.
The kit is based on a set of samples from the Yamaha Hybrid Kit sample library by Drumdrops. It’s a cool sounding drum kit, which will work great in pop and indie tunes, as well as rock.
On a related note, Drumdrops have recently released A Fistful of Drumkits. It is a commercial drum sample library for Ableton Live, priced at $69 and featuring over 2 GB audio data from various drum sets by Drumdrops.
