Spektro Audio Releases Wired Bass Free Ableton Live Instrument Pack

0

Spektro Audio has released Wired Bass, a free Ableton Live instrument pack featuring 10 multi-sampled bass created with a Eurorack modular synthesizer paired up with CV Toolkit – Standalone Version.

We tried to come up with analog bass sounds that can work great in many different music genres by using variety of different oscillators, filters and synthesis techniques.

The provided analogue bass multi-samples were recorded from a Eurorack modular synth which was programmed using Spektro Audio’s own CV Toolkit – Standalone Version software device. This piece of software is priced at $19,99 and it serves as a virtual controller for modular synthesizers.

The sample library is formatted for use with Ableton Live and unfortunately won’t work in other DAWs. The samples are packed inside a monolith ALP file which can only be used inside Ableton’s flagship digital audio workstation. Users of Live can load the included bass patches inside Ableton’s Sampler instrument.

Judging by Peter Kirn’s audio demos embedded below, the samples sound great. I’ll try to get in touch with Spektro Audio and ask them if they’d be willing to release the library in WAV format, too. That way it could also be used in other DAWs and formatted for free sampler formats such as SFZ.

Audio Demo

Although there aren’t any official audio demos available, Peter Kirn of Create Digital Music has been kind enough to provide a set of loops created using the samples from the Wired Bass pack. The loops are released under the Creative Commons ShareAlike license, same as the original pack, so you can use them for remixing as long as you release the results under the same license.

Wired Bass is available for free download via Spektro Audio (105 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1 Ableton Live instrument pack in ALP format).
