UKF has launched their first ever remix contest, offering a release on the Dub Police dubstep label to the producer who makes the best remix of a track called “Mad Man” by Caspa.
We’re asking you to create your best rendition of ‘Mad Man’ featuring Grime legend Riko for the chance to win a release on Dub Police and a feature on UKF’s YouTube channel. You will also gain one-to-one industry insight from Submerged Music, the home of Dub Police, Storming Productions, and Sub Soldiers.
The contest ends on the 4th of July. If you upload your remix after the submission deadline has expired, it won’t be included in the contest. In order to submit your remix properly, you should upload it as a public track on SoundCloud and email the link to UKF (more info on the official remix contest page linked below).
The winner gets three prizes:
- Release on Dub Police.
- Song upload on UKF’s YouTube channel.
- Industry insight from Submerged Music.
In my opinion, remix contests are a great way to improve your production skills. Using someone else’s sounds as a starting point and using them to create something new is an exciting way to freshen up your workflow. It’s also interesting to analyze how experienced producers make their loops and to use that knowledge in your future tracks.
The stems for this remix contest are available for download on the contest page linked below. You’ll get five stems in total, one for vocals, one for bass, one for keys, and two for SFX. Drums are not included.
