Free FM Bass Drum Instrument Rack For Ableton Live Released By Warp Academy

Warp Academy has announced the release of BoomKicker, a freeware FM kick drum synthesizer instrument built for use in Ableton Live.

Myagi gives us another wicked tool – in this case an awesome, deep, punchy bass kick drum made using Operator.  Grab it free at Warp Academy!

The drum rack is based on the Operator virtual synthesizer, using FM synthesis to generate deep kick drums with precise control over the pitch of the resulting kick sound. The rack features eight macro knobs which can be used to control various parameters of the instrument on the fly, without digging deeper into FM programming.

Some of the useful features include a built-in delay effect for building rhythmic sequences and a reverb effect which is automatically applied to the transient of the kick drum, adding fullness and body to the kick. Other parameters can be used to control the amount of bass frequencies in the generated kick drum, as well as the decay and the amount of the pitch envelope.

Please note that you’ll need to be signed in to your Warp Academy user account in order to download the freebie drum rack. The signup procedure is completely free and it only requires a working email address.

On a related note, Australian/Russian duo Sol Flare has recently released a nifty bass instrument rack for Ableton Live, featuring loads of classic electronic bass sounds. The rack features 40 bass presets for Analog, covering everything from reese patches to old school disco bass sounds. Get more info about this one via Ableton.
