Aaron M. Smith aka Paega has released Paega’s Nord Drum Kit, a free collection of drum samples which were synthesized using the Clavia Nord Drum Synth virtual analog drum machine and processed with analog gear.
The collection was originally released as two separate drum kits, however Paega has agreed to re-release these hits as a single drum pack which is now available for free download via BPB.

Dear Internet and loyal BPB followers,
Paega here with a couple free drum kits for you! Inside you will find two kits. Both kits were sourced from a Clavia Nord Drum 1 drum module, which is a virtual analog drum module. This module may be off many people’s radar as it is really intended as live performance tool for drummers. However, the fantastic sound engine and well designed interface make it a great studio tool as well.
The first kit is a punchy, electronic drum kit with a little love from an FMR Really Nice Compressor. It includes your familiar kick, snares and hats as well as some hand drums and a short gong. The second kit is pretty far from standard fair—for this kit I’ve run the Nord Drum directly into an OTO Biscuit then into the FMR RNC (Google/YouTube the OTO Biscuit, one of my favorite boxes!). I’ve used a combination of the Biscuit’s 8-bit bit reduction circuits plus its waveshapping distortion. This kit includes some kicks, snares, a disco style laser and some hits I’ve simply labeled Noize 1-3 (note the hip misspelling). Both kits hit my SoundCraft mixing board for some very gentle frequency attenuation then were recorded through MOTU preamps.
