Resom – Freeware Resonator VST Plugin For Windows Released By WOK

Resom by WOK.

Only four days after releasing the Ministepper step sequencer, WOK has announced the release of Resom, a cool freeware resonator effect in VST plugin format for Windows.

RESOM is a free resonator audio effect. It features 6 resonator units, tuned as a “power chord”. Overall tuning can be adjusted on the GUI or with MIDI keys.

A resonator in general is this weird type of audio effect which takes the incoming audio signal and runs it through a series of delay lines, resulting in an almost vocoder like sound. This happens because delay lines cause oscillation, creating a series of tonal harmonics which are added back to the original dry signal.

It’s really not very easy to explain what the effect sounds like, so take a listen to the audio demo embedded below to get a better idea about what resonators really do to a sound. The Resom audio demo shows what happens when you pass a dry drum beat through a resonator effect.

The plugin is hosted on Facebook, but you don’t have to be a member in order to grab your free copy of Resom. Simply visit the product page linked below and click on the download link to get the freebie. You can also follow WOK’s page if you’d like to receive updates about future plugin releases.
