Audiobombs has announced the release of New Age Hippies – Pads, a free sound collection featuring over 1 GB of pad instruments for NI Kontakt which were crafted by New Age Hippies.
The library contains 35 instrument patches in total, covering a huge selection of pad sounds which were sampled from various hardware and software synthesizers such as Roland JD-800, Korg DW-8000, Korg M1, Reason Thor, etc.
Here’s a bit of info about the included pads from Marco of the New Age Hippies:
“For the pads created using software synthesizers, I use multiple instances of softsynths and mix them together. For example: The “Pad Schillism” is a collage of 6 different pads, which means, if you play that patch in Kontakt, in real life you would be playing 6 different pads in logic using 6 different virtual instruments. That’s the reason why most of the patches come along “phat” in sound. In addition, I use panning. On the “6-Pads-Example”, I panned 2 tracks to the left, 2 tracks to the right and the last 2 tracks stayed in the middle. And of course, I use decent effects on each of the used tracks, like decent phaser, chorus, flanger etc…”
I still haven’t tested the library, but the audio demos definitely sound very nice. It’s a big download, so I won’t be able to download it before Monday, but I’m definitely looking forward to testing this one. If you like this stuff, you’ll find tons of other interesting freebies on the Audiobombs website linked below.
