Free Korg MS-20 Mini Drum Sample Pack Released By Wave Alchemy

MS-20 Mini Drums is a brand new free sample pack by Wave Alchemy, featuring 483 pure analog drum hits and percussive sounds which were synthesized with the Korg MS-20 Mini analog synthesizer.

All of the included samples were created with the Korg MS-20 Mini analog keyboard and processed with various high end outboard gear (including Empirical Labs Fatso, Thermionic Culture Vulture and Elysia Xpressor, among others). There’s a total of 483 drum samples in the pack, including some great sounding kicks, snares, toms, hats, cymbals, along with various other percussion sounds.

The samples are sorted into processed and unprocessed sounds, so you can use the raw sounds which were recorded straight from the MS-20 Mini if you prefer that option. The pack also includes several kits and mappings for popular sampler instruments like Kontakt, Battery, NN-XT, etc. Wave Alchemy has also included support for the free SFZ format, which is quite awesome.

Along with the freebie drum pack, Wave Alchemy has also launched a range of tutorial videos which show how to make great sounding drum hits using an analog synthesizer such as the Korg MS-20 Mini. The tutorials are quite well made and easy to follow. Definitely worth a watch if you’re looking for some aid with making your first steps in the world of drum sound design. Btw, you can also grab the Wave Alchemy Label Sampler 2 which has just been announced as a free download on Loopmasters. I still haven’t downloaded that one and I’m not completely sure what’s inside, but it’s quite possible that includes some additional free samples which aren’t available in the other freebie kits.
