Last Chance To Get The Amazing UNCLE SAM Synthesizer By WOK For FREE!

UNCLE SAM by WOK.WOK has announced that he is giving away the brilliant UNCLE SAM virtual instrument for free today, as a second chance for everyone who missed the Christmas offer. This instrument is an extended emulation of the legendary Oberheim SEM synthesizer module.

I’m a big fan of WOK’s virtual instruments and effects. He excels at creating hardware inspired instruments such as this one, as well as some rather unique sound mangling tools (like the fantastic Instretch which was included in this year’s round-up of freeware VST plugins on BPB).

Although UNCLE SAM is obviously expired by the Oberheim SEM module, it’s not meant to be a 100% precise emulation of its hardware counterpart. The virtual version created by WOK includes some additional features which were too expensive to include in the original instrument back in the day, such as polyphony, ring modulation, as well as a few other nifty tweaks.

Without any doubt whatsoever, UNCLE SAM is a fantastic virtual instrument on its own and the fact that you can get it for free is simply insane. If you’re a fan of analog style instruments and enjoy spending hours experimenting with arpeggios and delay effects in your studio, you simply must not miss this opportunity. UNCLE SAM is tons of fun to experiment with, it offers a great hands-on experience for knob tweaking fans and it sounds absolutely delicious.

To get your free copy of the instrument, follow the instructions in the first post of this KVR Audio thread (look for the little edit underneath the first post). The download link will be delivered to you automatically via email. I’m not really sure when the offer will expire, however my guess is that there’s less than 24 hours left, so be super quick if you want to get this one for free! It’s definitely worth the effort.

I’d also like to remind you that today is the last to get the insanely awesome Replika delay by Native Instruments for free. It’s a great delay effect and you won’t be able to get it for free after January 1st 2015! Some users are reporting instability issues caused by the graphic engine used to make the plugin, so here’s hoping that these bugs will be fixed in 2015 with a maintenance release.

Oh and let me add that Replika and UNCLE SAM sound great in tandem, by the way. There’s one killer combo that you can get for free today!

  1. If Uncle Sam was a native Windows and Mac OS 32-/64-bit AU/VST, people would be raving about it and compare it to the best analogue emulating softsynths, I am sure of that. But sadly and regrettably many people avoid SynthEdit made synths even if they sound as excellent as the Uncle Sam clearly does. Very unfortunate. <=(
