Prodyon Shortnoise Is FREE at VSTBuzz ($199 Value)

VSTBuzz and Prodyon are giving away Shortnoise, a huge (over 6 GB in size) collection of cinematic multi-sampled sounds and audio loops designed for use with Native Instruments Kontakt.

Shortnoise was normally priced at $199 on the Prodyon website, however the library can now be downloaded completely free of charge from VSTBuzz. There’s information about the expiration date for the offer, which could mean that Shortnoise will remain a free download on VSTBuzz forever. The library is still listed on the official Prodyon website, however the purchase link does not work. A new version of Shortnoise (called Shortnoise 2) was released last year, which is probably one of the main reasons why the original library is now offered as a free download.

I still haven’t downloaded the library (it’s a rather large download split into three RAR archives), but I’ve used some free Shortnoise 2 sounds in the past and really liked them. The original version of Shortnoise is a huge sound library featuring over 6 GB of cinematic and experimental sounds for NI Kontakt, and (although I still haven’t had the chance to test the full pack) it really looks like it could be an excellent source of sounds for cinematic composers and electronic music producers. It also seems that the library includes WAV files in addition to the NI Kontakt patches, but I’ll have to wait for the download to finish in order to check that.

The library features a great looking custom user interface for NI Kontakt, providing easy access to the filter section, global envelopes, effects and modulation parameters. Shortnoise also features a sequencer module, which can be used to create arpeggios and various melodic sequences. In addition to the powerful user interface, the library contains over 300 patches and over 150 multis, just in case you prefer using presets than programming your own sounds from scratch.

To download your free copy of Shortnoise, visit the VSTBuzz page linked below and register for a free user account. After logging in to your user account, simply click the download link on the Shortnoise product page and you’ll gain access to the three download packs. Please note that you will need to extract the downloaded RAR archives to your hard drive before using the library. I use a freeware utility called 7-Zip for this purpose.

    • Ok, downloaded it. It comes with lot of wav multi-samples with note names and all, so making your own sfz instruments should be easy (Actually it comes already with two sfz files inside but you can create much, much more). So I definitely can recommend this big download to those who doesn’t own Kontakt! (like me ;) )

  1. I have to say that I am not impressed at all and I’m sorry for anybody that actually paid $199 for these poor and mostly boring sounds in this package.

    • i totally agree with you. more then the half libary samples are not used in kontakt. so kontakt only use around 1,5 gb of the samples

  2. This is a truly awesome package. Messing around with the Kontakt patches earlier and it got so many great value Arps, Atmos, Leads, Pads and even Drum kits.

    Its a must have! That’s for sure

    @Paul D

    Full version of Kontakt only I’m afraid. =/
