Prizm Audio has announced the release of Raw Dirty Breaks Big Taster, an extended demo version (available for royalty free use in commercial projects) of their awesome new Raw Dirty Breaks sound pack.
The new Prizm Audio release comes with a dusty old school hip hop vibe, with plenty of vinyl noise and lo-fi hits to sweeten up your tracks. The Interview
BPB: Hi Pierre, thanks doing this mini interview. Can you tell us a bit more about the new Raw Dirty Breaks library? What’s it about and what types of sounds can wee expect to find in it?
Pierre: Raw Dirty Breaks (£9.95) is mainly about rough, lo-fi breakbeats that comes with a selection of vinyl sounding music loops and one-shot sounds. Everything fits well together and the library has an old school hip hop vibe to it, without sounding exactly like other hip hop sample packs.
BPB: There’s also a freebie version of the library, the free “Big Taster” pack. What’s inside the freebie pack and is it free for use in commercial projects?
Pierre: The Big Taster pack is a selection of loops, one-shots, percussion and Kontakt 5 instruments taken from the Prizm Audio catalog. The main folder contain the Raw Dirty Breaks expanded demo (a bigger demo than the one you can find on our Sampleism page) with breaks and one-shots, and the X-Bonus samples folder contain three Kontakt 5 instruments and a Perfect Chill Chaos demo folder with downtempo and ambient loops.
While I call them “demos”, the samples are all royalty-free and people can use them in their music without any restrictions. As long as you don’t resell the samples themselves, there is no problem. You can even use them in commercial music projects (for instance: music libraries).
BPB: We love the dusty jazz vibe of the Raw Dirty Breaks library. Can we expect to see more similar releases from you in the future?
Pierre: This is an avenue I’d like to explore more as I really like acid jazz. I could spend my whole life making ePiano chords, dusty breakbeats and funky bass loops! Hopefully, more will come in the same vein, but with added elements and a new twist.
BPB: What would be your #1 tip for fellow sound designers and sample makers?
Pierre: Make sound libraries you’d like to have yourself. If it pleases you, there is chance it will please other people. And if it fails, at least you’ll have something for your own music production.
