Free Soundware News Round-Up For July/August 2015

2

Since BPB was inactive for around 4-5 weeks this summer, quite a few interesting soundware freebies haven’t been featured in our news section yet. I’ve decided to include all of these cool free sound pack releases and offers into a single post, so that you can check out the latest free goodies with minimum hassle. Enjoy!

The Unfinished has launched Summer Sale 2015, offering up to 50% discounts on bundles and individual sound packs. Find more details about the offer via The Unfinished. While you’re on their website, make sure to also check out the newly reorganized freebies section covering a variety of free sounds and presets for popular virtual instruments.

Yamaha Synthesizers Europe has introduced DX-1 DX-5 Slap, a really cool collection of classic FM sounds that were formatted for use with Zampler. The pack also includes individual WAVs which can be loaded in other samplers and digital audio workstations. This is one of the better free Yamaha DX sample collections out there, definitely worth a look if you’re a fan of old hardware FM synthesizers. I really like how these samples capture that raw DX sound. Great work by the Yamaha Synthesizers Europe team! The pack is available for free download on Facebook, no strings attached.

Here’s an interesting one for all sample makers out there! Jeremiah Pena has released Photosynthesis Engine, a free NI Kontakt instrument shell which can be used in tandem with your own multi-sample sets. The engine comes with a neatly scripted custom user interface, providing control over the most commonly used parameters such as the filter and the amp envelope, the complete FX chain, etc. Get the GUI shell for free via Jeremiah  Pena’s website.

Speaking of Kontakt libraries, Sound Dust has presented Tiny Chaos Operator, a fantastic free percussion generator based on the Teenage Engineerings Pocket Operator 2. The provided Kontakt instrument is fun to use and its chaotic probability-based nature can lead to some happy accidents, especially if you need some inspiration for your glitchy percussion loops. Grab the instrument for free via Sound Dust.

Karoryfer Samples is back with Nathan Sheeran Vol 2: Drummer’s Paradise, yet another great addition to their ever-growing lineup of free soundware products. The pack contains seven acoustic drum kits, an electronic drum kit and a variety of sampled percussion one-shots. Download the pack via Karoryfer Samples and definitely check out their previously released freebies, most of which are available as SFZ libraries.

Mind Flux has released Techno Synth Sequence Loops demo pack, a free collection of techno synth loops and acid basslines. The release contains 10 audio loops in 24-bit WAV format and is available for free download on the Mind Flux SoundCloud page, along with several other taster packs.

DJs From Mars have announced Bangin’ Beat, a free sound collection featuring loads of different loops, drum samples and sound effects. The download process requires a sign-up to their mailing list, but the quality makes up for it. More info here.

That’s pretty much it when it comes to major soundware releases that appeared while we were gone. Stay tuned for more freebie news and updates in the following days, as we’re getting back to our regular posting schedule. We hope you guys are having a great summer so far! :)
