Free Yamaha DX-7 Sample Library For Beat Zampler & SFZ

Yamaha Synthesizers Europe has released DX-7 Blaze, a high quality free Yamaha DX-7 sound library for Beat Zampler and all SFZ compatible instruments.

The library contains 30 multi-sampled Yamaha DX-7 patches, featuring three samples per octave and only a single velocity layer with no round robin variations included. Even so, the included multi-samples sound quite good and authentic when played, given the digital nature legendary DX-7 FM synthesizer.

The great news is that a lot of work was obviously put into the creation of the Zampler patches, so you get tons of modulation options out of the box. Different modulation sources such as note velocity, LFOs and the modulation wheel are already linked to various parameters in Zampler’s handy modulation matrix, making it much easier to come up with a more organic sounding performance. If you’re using the included SFZ patches in another virtual instrument, you will need to set up the modulation manually.

Most of the iconic Yamaha DX-7 sounds are included in the pack, covering classic FM style bass sounds, bells, pianos, pads and leads. The library contains 460 uncompressed WAV samples in total, with accompanying SFZ mappings and an FXB bank file for use in Beat Magazine’s free Zampler virtual instrument.

The library is hosted on Yamaha Synthesizers Europe’s official Facebook page, however you don’t need to be a registered Facebook member in order to download your free copy of the library. The same page contains the download links for three other freebie packs, featuring multi-sampled sounds of the Yamaha CS-80, CS-40M and DX-10 synthesizers.
