Da Vinyl Box - Free Hip Hop Sample Pack By SampleScience

SampleScience has released Da Vinyl Box, a free collection of audio samples, loops and beats that were collected from the public domain and prepared for use in hip hop music production.

The sounds were taken from various public domain movies and audio recordings, meaning that you can freely use them in your commercial projects (more info available in the included TOS file). Pierre Parenteau of SampleScience has done a great job converting them into highly usable BPM-labeled audio loops and perfectly sliced one shot samples, so all that’s left for you to do is to fire up your favorite sampler or DAW and start beat making.

The pack contains 263 audio loops and samples in total, organized into seven folders: Bass Loops, Breakbeats, FX, Music Loops, One Shots, Percussion, Vocals. Most of the loops contain tempo and key information, which is very helpful when adding them to a new project.

The quality of the included sounds is much higher than I expected when downloading this freebie, since I honestly didn’t believe that one can find such cool riffs and one shot sounds in the public domain. Da Vinyl Box features tons of first class drum loops, bass riffs, some great sounding vinyl noise recordings, fantastic sound effects and also a nice selection of percussive hits. You should definitely download it if you’re looking for free hip hop production material, or if you simply want a collection of dusty organic sounds with tons of character.
