31 Free NI Kontakt 5 Instruments Released By SampleScience

SampleScience has released a free sample library simply called 31 Free Kontakt Instruments, featuring a selection of NI Kontakt patches from various forthcoming and previously released SampleScience products.

The 361 MB download contains 31 patches in NKI format, compatible with the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5. The patches will only work in demo mode in the free Kontakt Player. Individual samples in WAV format are not included, which is unfortunate for users who don’t own the full version of Native Instruments’ flagship sampler.

The freebie pack covers a selection of sounds from seven different SampleScience sample libraries, some of which are yet to be officially released. The featured products are Analog Age (a forthcoming sample library featuring analog synthesizer sounds), DX21 (a forthcoming NI Kontakt library based on the Yamaha DX21 synthesizer keyboard), EA-1 Synthesis (full version already available on the SampleScience website), Mopho (a forthcoming library based on Dave Smith Instruments Mopho analog synthesizer), SMROM (a brand new library based on the Sega Master System), Thales Model I and Vortex SoundWaves.

The library is hosted on Gumroad and it can be downloaded completely free of charge if you enter zero as the donation amount on the product page linked below. In addition, SampleScience has recently announced the full version of SMROM, a rompler based on the Sega Master System gaming console (actually, the console’s built-in Texas Instruments SN76489 PSG sound chip to be precise). The virtual instrument (32-bit and 64-bit VSTi/AUi plugin formats) is priced at $12 and contains over 800 MB of sample data.
