Perimeter Sound Arts has announced that the FeldsparFX-SE (Special Edition) multi-effect VST plugin for Windows is now offered as a free download on their website.
FeldsparFX-SE is a multi-effect unit based on the old FeldsparFX plugin by Contralogic Productions. Compared to the original plugin, the Special Edition version by Perimeter Sound Arts comes with a slightly different feature set, substituting an LFO and one trance gate for a reverb module. The user interface is also slightly tweaked, sporting a green/gray color scheme.
The plugin features a simple delay module, a pretty neat ring modulator effect, a couple of LFOs, one trance gate, a filter section, a 4-slot modulation matrix and the aforementioned reverb module. It is a solid multi-FX unit that can truly transform the audio on the input into something completely different. FeldsparFX-SE is a lot of fun to experiment with, especially when several effect modules are being modulated by the two LFOs at the same time. Sadly, the plugin was built with an older version of SynthEdit and thus is only compatible with 32-bit host applications running on Windows.
FeldsparFX-SE was previously given away as a freebie gift for Perimeter Sound Arts customers, but now everyone can download it from their website, completely free of charge. The download link is located on the Web Shop page, right below the Perimeter Complete Collection bundle section. The download pack contains a nicely written user manual in TXT format.
