Drumtrax From Mars Sample Library FREE For A Limited Time!

Samples From Mars are giving away their Drumtrax From Mars sample pack as a free download for everyone interested until November 30th this year.

The pack contains 384 drum samples in 24-bit WAV format, featuring the sounds of a Sequential Circuits DrumTraks drum machine that was passed through a variety of preamps, tape recorders and the legendary E-mu SP-1200 sampler.

The included samples are sorted into two main categories. The “Digital Clean” samples capture the pure unprocessed sound of the DrumTraks, whereas the “Tape Saturated” folder includes the samples that were beefed up using outboard gear. The library also contains an ALP file for Ableton Live owners (the file is used to install the library as a sound pack in Live).

The clean samples cover up to sixteen pitch variations of the same sound. It’s amazing how cool those old school 8-bit snares sound when pitched down a bit (Prince certainly knew what he was doing!). The samples in the “Tape Saturated” folder are processed with taste, adding just enough grit and flavor to color the sound without going overboard into smudged and blurry territory. To sum it up, the pack is pretty much a must download for all fans of old school drum machines. Samples From Mars have been delivering quality drum machine sample packs for quite a while now.

Drumtrax From Mars is commercial sample pack that was first released in September last year.
