Audiomodern Releases Free Sync 3 LE Instrument For NI Kontakt

Audiomodern has announced the release of Sync 3 LE, a free version of their Sync 3 construction kit library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

What’s interesting about Sync 3 is that it is basically a collection of construction kits that are pre-mapped for use in NI Kontakt, along with a convenient selection of performance controls and built-in SFX. Thanks to Kontakt’s brilliant Time Machine Pro algorithm and some clever patch programming by Audiomodern, the triggered loops stay in sync even if you change the pitch of a loop (or multiple loops) during a performance. This can lead to some great sounding results and is, in my opinion, the coolest feature of Sync 3. It really goes to show how much interest can be added to a static percussion of SFX loop simply by changing its pitch over time.

Other features of Sync 3 include a handy mixing panel with basic volume, pan and mute/solo controls, along with a pretty decent collection of built-in sound effects such as reverb, delay, gate and stutter. The instrument works best when you map several different parameters to the knobs and sliders on your MIDI controller, or the automation lanes in your digital audio workstation of choice.

Sync 3 LE is the lightweight free version of Sync 3, containing only four construction kits from the full product (28 included in the full version). Each construction kit contains a set of eight loops that are also available as key labeled 24-bit WAV files. The free version Sync 3 doesn’t have any other limitations compared to the full version of the product, apart from the reduced number of included loops and NKI patches. The included construction kits sound very good, covering several different styles of IDM/electro grooves and modern cinematic backdrops.
