Samplephonics have released Hand Picked Freebie, a free collection of one shot samples and loops from their various commercial sample packs.
Hand Picked Freebie contains 148 audio files in total, covering 100 loops and 48 drum and percussion one shot samples and adding up to 316 MB of audio material when extracted. The content was handpicked from a variety of Samplephonics releases and it is provided in full 24-bit quality. The freebie pack doesn’t include anything else apart for the WAV files, meaning that there are no pre-made patches for popular sampler instruments and digital audio workstations.
The loop content covers a wide range of popular music styles, including (but not limited to) dubstep, house, trap, hip hop and techno. All included loops are labeled with key and tempo information. The loops sound good, our favorite part of the pack being the excellent electric piano riffs which have a bit of that nice soul vibe to them.
The one shots are sorted into six categories: claps and snares, cymbals, SFX, hi-hats, bass drums and percussion hits. They also cover a wide range of music styles, so you’ll find everything from deep techno kicks to sampled hip hop snares. As is most of the case with multi-release taster packs such as this one, our advice is to go through the included sounds and keep the ones you like, while deleting the rest. It’s never a good idea to keep an entire pack that you’ve downloaded just because you like a dozen or so sounds in it. Keep your sample collection tidy, so that you can find quality one shots more easily.
