HitFilm 4 Express Released (Free Video Editor)

FXHome has announced the release of HitFilm 4 Express, the latest version of their freeware video editing and compositing software for PC and Mac.

Those of you who are subscribed to our YouTube channel have probably noticed that the quality of BPB videos has increased quite a bit in the past year or so. The quality boost was partly caused by the fact that I started using HitFilm 3 Express for video editing, which enabled me to export higher quality renders, use some rather neat looking transitions and color correction tools, as well as to create new intro and outro animations for our YouTube channel videos. I was quite amazed by the amount of video editing and compositing firepower HitFilm creators are giving away for free, so it’s no surprise that HitFilm 3 Express was listed as the #1 pick in our recently updated list of free video editing software.

Anyways, the new version of HitFilm Express has just been released eariler today. HitFilm 4 Express was optimized to work better on lower end computers, so you won’t need a powerful gaming rig in order to edit videos. It comes with over 140 built-in effects which can be expanded by purchasing additional packs in the HitFilm store. The latest version of the software now also includes the advanced animation tools from HitFilm 4 Pro.

Much like the previous version of the software, HitFilm 4 Express is completely free to download and use. All you need to do in order to grab your free copy is to sign up for a free user account at the HitFilm website and share the link to the product page on your favorite social network. You will instantly receive the download link and the software can be activated using your login credentials.

It’s definitely worth noting that this is not a demo or a trial version of HitFilm. You can use HitFilm 4 Express as your main video editing tool and not worry about any annoying limitations, nag screens, etc. The optional Pro version of the software includes additional effects and some advanced features, however the free Express version is a tremendously powerful piece of video editing software regardless of its price.

Another cool thing about HitFilm is that the developers are constantly publishing new video tutorials and tips on their YouTube channel, which will definitely help new users find their way around the software. They cover all sorts of stuff in their videos, from basic editing and compositing techniques to advanced visual FX tutorials. Either way, I highly recommend HitFilm 4 Express if you’re looking for a free video editor to help you create music clips for YouTube, or even if you want to edit your first music video.
