Beat Releases Free TRNSTR Sample Pack For Zampler RX

German Beat magazine has released TRNSTR, a free sound library for the freeware Zampler RX virtual instrument, featuring the sounds of Roland’s new TR-09 and TB-03 instruments.

Earlier this year, Roland has introduced the new TR-09 and TB-03 hardware instruments, direct descendants of the company’s legendary TR-909 drum machine and TB-303 bassline synthesizer. Even though they’re digital instruments, unlike their predecessors, the TR-09 and TB-03 introduce modern features such as USB audio and USB MIDI connectivity, making it easier to incorporate them in DAW based studio setups. The sound is always an instrument’s most important feature, though, and this free sample collection by Beat will definitely give you a good idea of what the TR-09 and TB-03 actually sound like.

TRNSTR contains 30 instrument patches, along with a huge set of 780 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format. The samples are ready to load as a sound bank in the latest version of Zampler RX. The download pack also includes the latest Zampler RX installers for Windows and Mac OS, which is a nice bonus for users who don’t already have Zampler RX installed on their machine.

It’s also worth pointing out that, being a Zampler sound bank, TRNSTR is also compatible with virtually any sampler instrument capable of loading SFZ patches. So, in case your sampler of choice loads SFZ files, it can be used to import the SFZ patches included in the TRNSTR download pack.

On a related note, Beat magazine has recently released yet another excellent free sound library for Zampler RX called Glamour, featuring the sounds of U-He’s DIVA virtual synthesizer. It’s sort of unusual to see a sample pack based on a virtual synthesizer, however there’s no denying that DIVA is one of the most sought-after virtual synths on the market, and this is a nice way use some of its sounds in your music for free. And speaking of U-He, the beta version of their forthcoming RePro-1 virtual instrument can be used completely free of charge by January 1st.
