Strezov Sampling Intros Thunder X3M Taiko Freebie For Kontakt

3

Strezov Sampling has introduced Thunder X3M Freebie, a free taiko drum sample collection for Native Instruments Kontakt (also includes WAV samples).

Thunder X3M Freebie is based on a set of low taiko articulations and taiko rimshot samples taken from the full version of Thunder X3M ($329). The free instrument features the same sound engine as the full version of Thunder X3M, making it possible to manipulate the pitch, sustain, and attack transients of the included sounds. The great news for non-Kontakt users is that the pack also includes the samples in WAV format, making it compatible with any sampler instrument on the market.

The instrument contains 300 MB of audio content in total and doesn’t have a negative impact on the DAW’s performance as some multi-GB libraries. The included taiko samples sound very good and can be easily tweaked, to an extent, using the provided controls. The quick demo video embedded below shows some of the sounds you can create with the Thunder X3M Freebie.

Despite being a lightweight version of a commercial library, Thunder X3M Freebie doesn’t really feel limited in any way during use and it’s a very solid source of cinematic percussion if you’re looking to add that type of sound to your arsenal. The instrument can be downloaded completely free of charge from Strezov Sampling’s website and requires the full version of NI Kontakt in order the work without the 15-minute time limit of the free Kontakt Player. As mentioned above, you can also use the included WAV samples in your favorite sampler instrument.

Thunder X3M Freebie is available for free download via Strezov Sampling (249 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 260 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format, 1 instrument in NKI format for NI Kontakt).
