What would be the best tool in Cubase 5 for playing with the ADSR for kicks? Would the stock “EnvelopeShaper” be enough? Or would some other sampler like Kontakt be recommended?

onwell if you’re looking for a freeware sampler, you can’t go wrong with Shortcircuit [vemberaudio.se/shortcircuit]. it may be a tad bit hard to get into, but once you grasp the workflow, it’s a perfect tool for layering drum hits.
