Model Pro, A Free Virtual Moog Prodigy Released By Elektrostudio

6

Last year’s release of the Elektrostudio freeware VST synth pack was followed by quite a lot of hype on the audio production forums I tend to visit.

Model Pro is a virtual emulation of the Moog Prodigy analog synthesizer.

Now Elektrostudio is back with Model Pro,  another interesting emulation of a classic hardware synthesizer. Model Pro is a virtual emulation of Moog Prodigy, a simple but yet very powerful mono synth, the not-so-expensive brother of the oh-so-famous Minimoog.

Anyway, I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the previous Elektrostudio plugins, but Model Pro kinda blew me away. The bass presets are pure gold. If you’re a fan of classic analog synthesizers and their virtual emulations, you have my recommendation to check this one out.

Model Pro is available as VST plugin and a standalone instrument for Windows.

And yeah, Merry Christmas everyone! I have a nice surprise coming soon for all you bpb readers. :]

Features

Main features of Model Pro:

  • 2 VCOs with sawtooth, triangle, and pulse (narrow/square) waveforms.
  • LFO: Square or Triangle.
  • VCF: 24 dB/oct lowpass w/ cutoff, emphasis.
  • A/D/S envelope; VCA: Attack, Decay, Sustain.
  • Keyboard: 32 keys (no velocity & aftertouch).

KVR is basically my favorite audio-related forum, and the production section on DSF (dubstep forum) is my second favorite. i also tend to check out what’s hapenning on DOA forums from time to time, they’re a funny crowd. :]
