de la Mancha has released three new freeware VST plugins including GTA, a vintage style character compressor which was previously available as part of a commercial bundle.
GTA is a vintage style ‘character’ compressor, designed like its muscle car name-sake for brute power, pure speed and to make a loud noise. It is stripped down for ease of use and has a unique vintage colouring on top.
GTA is available for free download via de la Mancha (10.1 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit VST plugin format for Windows).
The plugin was previously available only as a bonus for de la Mancha’s commercial GTO/GTX compressor bundle customers. GTA is a vintage style compressor which can be used for adding character on individual tracks or the whole mix.
It is a peak compressor with very fast attack and release times, making it a superb tool for adding glue to mixes and busses. GTA also features a dry/wet mix knob for super easy NY style compression and peak metering for input, output, and gain reduction.
de la Mancha has also released combover and truc, two previously unavailable freeware effects in VST plugin format.
combover by de la Mancha.
combover is a comb delay effect with a built-in step sequencer. It features an X/Y pad and various controls for weird sound mangling. combover was developed in collaboration with runagate and can be downloaded for free here (1.47 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit VST plugin format for Windows).
truc by de la Mancha.
truc is a sound mangling multi-effect with 4 banks of effects which are controlled by 2 X/Y pads. The pads can be used for live control of the volume of each effect, as well as their individual parameters. truc was developed in collaboration with sinkmusic as an entry for KVR DC07 (it was ranked as the 4th plugin in the Developer Challenge) and can be downloaded for free here (2.13 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit VST plugin format for Windows).
