Dark Engine – Free Distorted Drum Hits & Feedback SFX Collection By Timur Arynov

Dark Engine by 99Sounds.

99Sounds sound design label has released Dark Engine, a free sample collection which features a set of distorted drum samples and feedback sound effects created by Timur Arynov aka MyOSS.

The included drum samples have been crafted by passing various sampled and synthesized drum hits through the Boss OS-2 distortion pedal. The result is a lovely set of heavy drum hits, which would work great in industrial or any other music style which relies on heavily distorted drum sounds. The pack contains 57 drum one shots in total, sorted into four different categories (kick drum, snare drum, cymbals and percussion samples).

The other part of the Dark Engine sample library features a set of weird feedback sounds, which work absolutely great as sci-fi sound effects or as modulated bass sounds. Timur Arynov has created these sounds by passing the MXR Carbon Copy analog delay pedal through an old guitar effects processor. The feedback samples are sorted into six different folders by type and I’m sure that you’ll love these if you’re on a lookout for weird sci-fi sound effects.

Timur Arynov aka MyOSS is the author of all the samples included in the Dark Engine sample library. He is a talented sound designer from Almaty, Kazakhstan. You should definitely take a look at his Bandcamp page, as it features several other interesting freebies. A couple of his previously released sample libraries have already been featured on BPB, namely the saturn cIRcles collection of abstract impulse responses and the Brute Planet collection of Arturia MicroBrute samples.
