Boscomac has announced the release of Inity Delay, an innovative performance oriented dub delay effect which is released as a free ensemble for Native Instruments Reaktor.
Inity Delay is yet another awesome tool coming from the master of NI Reaktor freebies. It’s a real shame that Boscomac doesn’t develop his effects and instruments as VST or AU plugins, since it would make these awesome free tools accessible to more users. NI Reaktor is a fantastic product, but unfortunately third party add-ons such as this one from Boscomac will only work for fifteen minutes in the free Reaktor Player.

On the other hand, if you do own the full version of NI Reaktor and if you like adding dub style delays to your tracks, chances are that you will love what Inity Delay has to offer. Inity Delay is a delay effect with a twist, heavily optimized towards dub style performances (either with a guitar or another instrument which plays off-beat skank rhythm chords). The ensemble features three separate delay lines (with individual delay time, feedback and filter controls), whereas the audio detection circuit on the input will send each incoming chord to a different delay line. This way, it is possible to create interesting rhythmic and tonal variations during a performance without ever touching the ensemble’s interface.
The basic idea may sound complicated on paper, but it’s pulled off really well and Inity Delay is really easy to use. A bit of experimentation with this effect can lead to some great result too, once you grasp the way in which the audio detection circuit works. Apart from the three aforementioned delay modules, Inity Delay also features a couple of additional goodies such as “Tape Wobble” for basic pitch modulation and “Psycho Pan” for achieving interesting panning effects.
Oh and by the way, definitely take a listen to the audio demo tracks on Boscomac’s website. The audio demo section features some seriously awesome dub covers of popular tracks, which also got to show how great Inity Delay can sound in a mix. Really cool stuff!
