Reverb.com has announced that Drift by Sinevibes (normally priced at $29) is now available as an exclusive free download from their website for a limited time only.
Following last week’s release of the free Reverb Solo plugin by Acon Digital, Reverb.com has sent yet another exclusive freebie our way. This time around it’s Sinevibes Drift, an interesting FX unit based on a couple of three-dimensional oscillators (or Lorenz chaos systems, to be precise) that are used as complex modulation sources. According to Sinevibes, the company behind Drift, such oscillators are normally used to model the behavior of liquids and gases. Needless to say, it’s always interesting to use such unconventional components in a musical environment.
Being a Sinevibes product, Drift is, much like the rest of the company’s product arsenal, only available as an Audio Unit plugin for Mac OS. That’s quite a bummer since I only have access to a Windows based DAW, meaning that I wasn’t able to put this interesting looking plugin through my standard test routine.
